MediShout
MediShout’s vision is to turn every hospital into a digitally smart building. Everyday, operational problems impact staff and prevent best patient care e.g. broken printers, missing stock, faulty equipment - the list goes on. MediShout is healthcare’s only ‘one-stop’ app that allows staff to report and resolve any operational issues.
‘Shouts’ are triaged to the appropriate department or supplier, whilst our AI algorithm predicts future problems. With healthcare suffering huge backlogs in care, MediShout is here to improve staff productivity and patient care.

Ash Kalraiya, CEO & Founder
Why did you start MediShout?
I‘ve been a doctor for over a decade, working as an Orthopaedic surgeon in the NHS, South Africa and Malawi. Operational problems have always been my biggest bugbear; something as simple as a broken lightbulb can lead to a cancelled operation. I founded MediShout because I realised digital technology could solve all such operational problems, and enable healthcare staff to focus on what they do best: treating patients.
What has been your happiest moment so far as a startup founder?
The buzz of seeing hospital staff switch from paper-heavy processes to using our app. I love seeing more and more Shouts being sent and the positive impact that brings.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned to date?
As a startup, in healthcare, in a pandemic… you’ll probably need to raise more money than you think.
Are there any founders or companies you look up to?
My co-founder Ali Bahsoun worked for Touch Surgery and I admire how they scaled and grew so rapidly, getting to millions of healthcare users globally.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
‘Trust me, this could be huuuge’ (well, so my team tells me!).
What is the quality you most admire in a colleague?
Having insight.
What is your current state of mind?
Focused.
What has your experience been like so far as an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur?
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur programme kept MediShout alive, then enabled us to thrive. I’m lucky to be innovating in healthcare at a time when there’s more support available than ever before.
Why did you decide to partner with KHP Ventures?
Firstly, the team - I knew Nadine previously and everything she touches seems to turn to gold! Secondly, we can never be close enough to our customers in order to solve their challenges and KHP will further help us bridge that gap.
Looking to the future, what do you hope MediShout will achieve?
We want to help as many healthcare staff as possible across the world.
